Carmen Sciandra is a native of Pittston, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Pittston Area High School. Carmen received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh. Carmen received a second Bachelor of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia.
Carmen began his perfusion career at Hahnemann University as a clinical perfusionist and staff educator for the perfusion program. In 2000, Carmen accepted a staff position at Community Medical Center. In 2001, Carmen was named the Chief of Perfusion at C.M.C. and remains in that position.

Joseph L. Riviello is a native of Old Forge, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Scranton Preparatory High School. Joe received his Bachelor of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia.
Joe began his perfusion career in Las Vegas, Nevada performing over two-hundred fifty cardiopulmonary bypass procedures per year. In 2001, Joe accepted his current position as a clinical perfusionist at Community Medical Center in Scranton.
In addition to his partnership in NEPA Perfusion Services, Inc., Joe is President of Zen Design Firm, a successful web design , web development, and website hosting company based in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Joe also is an active triathlete who recently completed IRONMAN Switzerland, in Zurich, Switzerland.

I have been utilizing platelet gel on 100% of my cardiac procedures since 2005. I find great comfort in the hemostasis it provides my patients. Furthermore, PRP is very cost-effective and extremely safe. Also, the bio-engineered hemostasis products on the market tend to be pricey.
